Spend Memorial Day Weekend with Us!
Young aspiring female baseball and softball players will have the opportunity to work with and learn from the Nashville Sounds players and AJ Andrews, pro softball outfielder and first woman to receive the Rawling’s Gold Glove award, at this year’s Play Like a Girl Skills Clinic. During the clinic, we will break down a critical warm-up sequence and throwing progressions, as well as a defensive routine to build a solid base of defensive techniques.
We will introduce and practice defensive drills and discuss hitting technique and hitting drills. All defensive positions will be covered by current Sounds players. We will also spend time discussing base running and play a few baseball-related games.
Clinic participants will be provided a boxed lunch* on their way out of the ballpark at 12:30 p.m. Plus, all clinic participants get two FREE tickets to the 6:35pm game vs. Oklahoma City, where 12 girls will get a taste of the big league!
These girls will join the Nashville Sounds pregame as they take the field at First Tennessee Park for the singing of the national anthem. AJ Andrews will throw the opening pitch. And the girls on the field will receive recognition over the public address system and the famous guitar scoreboard!
There will also be random drawings for custom ‘A League of their Own’ jerseys (see below). Jerseys worn by the Nashville Sounds players during the game will be auctioned online on game day and autographed and presented to the winning bidders on the field following the game.
