Practical Preservation Series: Restoring Windows

Join for an exciting new series on using historic preservation methods in your own daily life!

Using the professional practices of museums, they will explore the different challenges of caring for historic houses and objects, and how to make those important decisions on caring for your own family homes and keepsakes.

Their first program explores historic windows and energy efficiency! Are modern windows really better? Special guest David Britton of Tennessee State Parks will discuss the various designs of older windows and walk participants through how to assess, restore, and maintain windows while preserving energy.

The workshop will be held in person AND online! On Saturday, August 8 we will host a COVID-conscious outdoor program at Cragfont State Historic Site at 11am, followed by a virtual Zoom program at 3pm. Both programs are FREE and sponsored by AmeriCorp Appalachia CARES. Registration is required, as you will be sent instructions for attending in person or virtually on Zoom.
