Race for the Golden Helix 5K

The ASBMB Golden Helix 5K (3.1 mile) race is an open-road race; main roads are not closed (see course map). Walkers Welcome!!! A police escort is provided, and emergency services are on-call. The section of Stadium Drive between Prescott Hall and Sherlock Park (from 10th St. to University Drive) are closed for the start and finish celebrations. The race happens rain or shine; there are no refunds. Strollers are welcome and should group behind all runners at the start line. No pets allowed without a doggy bag. The 5K is a chip timed. USATF Certified Course #TN14097MS is timed for 70 minutes. Lots of Prizes! Door prizes! Entertainment!

$30 regular registration ends 10:00 a.m. Wed, Oct. 21st (guaranteed T-shirt deadline) $35 late registration ends 9:30 a.m. Sat, Oct. 31st. Online registration open until 10:00 a.m. Wed, Oct. 28th
Parent/child special: Sign up at packet pick-up either 4:30-7:00 p.m. Friday or from 8-9:30 Saturday for $50 for both of you.

8:00 - 9:30 a.m. Late Registration and Packet pick-up. Bathrooms will be available inside of Prescott Hall throughout the entire event. 9:55 a.m: Line up behind the start truss. Strollers and walkers will need to go to the back of the line. Competitive runners will need to go to the front. Prizes will be awarded off of gun/BOOM time. ****Make sure your chip/bib is pinned securely on the front of your shirt so it will be visible to TN Race Timing professionals. 10:00 a.m: "BOOM" explosion provided by Dr. Dan Swartling of the TTU Chemistry Department to start the race. The NEW race route can be found at http://www.goldenhelix5k.com/course-map 11:15 a.m: Begin door prizes and awards ceremony at the steps of Prescott Hall.
