Red Gable Cheese Workshops. One Gallon Wonders! Exploring Cow’s Milk Cheeses
Who knew such little milk could make such great cheese? This workshop is dedicated to the one gallon wonders. Each of the four cheeses we’ll cover in this workshop make an impressive cheese with around one gallon of cow’s milk. And, yes, you can use high quality store bought milk to make these cheeses.
After covering the basics of cheese making and the equipment required, we’ll dive into making four distinctly different cheeses. First up is Squeaky Curds-the darling of the Midwest cheese crowd. Next is a petit size Double Cream Camembert followed by a bloomy rind cheese encased in spruce strips infused with Tennessee whisky (YUM!). Last but not least is Fromage Blanc, a really rich cream cheese.
It’s a full day of cutting curds and making cheese!
Cost of the workshop includes a full day of hands on instruction in a specially designed cheese kitchen, equipment review, detailed recipes, lunch and refreshments. Class size is limited to six individuals. Please call or email for class availability.
