Salon@615: Special Edition presents An Evening with Glennon Doyle

Salon@615: Special Edition is pleased to present activist, speaker and bestselling author Glennon Doyle for her new book, Untamed. A signed copy of Untamed is included with every ticket.

About the book:
Glennon Doyle—best-selling Oprah-endorsed author, devoted mother of three—found herself asking this question four years ago. She was speaking at a conference when a woman entered the room. Time stopped and three words flooded Glennon’s mind: There She Is.

UNTAMED asks women: Who were you before the world told you who to be? Beneath the striving to keep up with the world’s expectations – will you go deep enough to recognize the sound of your own voice deep within you? What if you trusted that voice inside, the one we are always so quick to silence, the one whispering to us as we go through the motions of each day, “Isn’t life supposed to be more beautiful than this?” How would our relationships, families, faith and careers change if we trusted our emotions and our intuition to guide us? How would the world change if we refused to abandon ourselves?

Soulful and uproarious, forceful and tender, UNTAMED is both a memoir and a galvanizing wake-up call. It offers a piercing, electrifying examination of the restrictive expectations women are issued from birth; shows how hustling to meet those expectations leaves women feeling dissatisfied and lost, overwhelmed and underwhelmed; and reveals that when we quit abandoning ourselves and instead abandon the world’s expectations of us, we become women who can finally look at our lives and recognize: There She Is..

About the author:
Glennon Doyle is the author of the #1 New York Times Bestseller LOVE WARRIOR, an Oprah’s Book Club selection, as well as the New York Times Bestseller CARRY ON, WARRIOR. An activist, speaker, and thought leader, she is also the founder and president of Together Rising, an all-women led nonprofit organization that has revolutionized grassroots philanthropy—raising over $20 million for women, families, and children in crisis, with a most frequent donation of just $25. Glennon was named among OWN Network’s SuperSoul100 inaugural group as one of 100 “awakened leaders who are using their voices and talent to elevate humanity.” She lives in Florida with her wife and three children.
