The Nashville Shakespeare Festival invites you to read every play Shakespeare wrote, out loud in a reading circle. Once a month, gather together at the Nashville Public Library to read one of the Bard’s plays, starting with the first on July 7th 2018, and ending with the last approximately three years later.
Shakespeare Allowed will be held via Zoom on he first Saturday of each month at 12:00PM!
(Please join by 11:50AM so that we can be ready to start promptly at noon.)
The first 12 people who want to read will be assigned a number, and that will be the reading order. We will take a break mid-way, and there will be a chance for people to swap in or out of reading aloud. Up to 100 people can join and follow along silently.
You will need a device capable of joining a Zoom meeting:
- Windows or Apple computer with speakers and a microphone (a camera is also recommended).
- Android or Apple phone or mobile device (such as an iPad).
If you are using Zoom for the first time, you will be prompted to install the Zoom application on your device. We strongly recommend that you join the meeting at least 10 minutes early in order to get your system set up.
Hearing these plays read aloud will give you more insight into the depth of Shakespeare’s works. All voices and all dialects are welcome! This is intended to be a fun time, so bring your sense of humor.
