Sing Through the Quarantine Drive-In Listening Party
A Drive-In Listening Party to celebrate the student-made album, Sing Through the Quarantine – streamed exclusively on WXNA.
Girls Write Nashville is a nonprofit songwriting mentorship program that cultivates empowered expression and a positive community for teen girls. Their research-driven curriculum is designed to build resilience and confidence in girls while making space for an inclusive and safe city-wide music scene. Committed to accessibility and inclusivity, their programs are offered free of cost to participants. They are currently offering virtual programs to students in all Title I schools in Nashville and 95% of participants say they have been essential to their well-being in a time of isolation.
On March 26th, they are releasing an all-female student-written, performed, produced, and recorded album entitled, Sing Through the Quarantine, followed by a Drive-In Listening Party on March 28th in partnership with WXNA and their Teen Power Radio Hour at United Way of Greater Nashville.
In previous years, they have hosted a CD release party at a local venue but due to the restrictions of the global pandemic, they are taking this opportunity to create an engaging event that will garner community support, provide a safe family-friendly outing, and allow us to celebrate the students that made this project happen in the midst of the 2020 quarantine.
