Since making Nashville his home in the fall of 2008 (by way of New York and Chicago), Evan Cobb has become one of Nashville’s most in-demand woodwind players. Cobb has performed with myriad ensembles including the Nashville Symphony, the Nashville Jazz Orchestra, The Dynamites featuring Charles Walker, JD Souther, Cage the Elephant, and Aretha Franklin. Also an active educator, Cobb is the director of our own Nashville Jazz Workshop Summer Camp and NJW Scholarship Program, and keeps a large studio of private students on the saxophone, oboe, flute, and clarinet. He is also the host of our popular NJW monthly jam sessions.
Evan has just released “Hot Chicken” on Ear Up Records, his second CD as a leader.
Joining Cobb on the date are trumpeter Matt White, pianist Bruce Dudley, bassist Jonathan Wires, and drummer Josh Hunt, a can’t miss “modern-day jazz quintet.”
