Songwriter Session: Matraca Berg and Jeff Hanna

The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum holds weekly Songwriter Sessions streamed on the museum’s YouTube channel. Following the program, fans can join us on Instagram for a live Q&A session with that week’s guest songwriter.

Matraca Berg wrote the 1997 CMA Song of the Year “Strawberry Wine,” recorded by Deana Carter, as well as “I Don’t Feel Like Loving You Today” (Gretchen Wilson), “The Last One to Know” (Reba McEntire), “Wild Angels” (Martina McBride), “You and Tequila” (Kenny Chesney and Grace Potter), “You Can Feel Bad” (Patty Loveless), and “XXX’s and OOO’s (An American Girl)” (Trisha Yearwood). Jeff Hanna wrote the Grammy Best Country Song of the Year award winner, “Bless the Broken Road,” recorded by Rascal Flatts. As a member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Hanna has written many of their most-loved songs, including “Baby’s Got a Hold on Me,” “Down That Road Tonight,” “Fire in the Sky,” “I’ve Been Lookin’,” and “Partners, Brothers and Friends.”

Presented by SunTrust. Streamed live at www.countrymusichalloffame.org/streaming and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Following their Songwriter Session performance, Matraca Berg and Jeff Hanna join Instagram Live to answer questions from the audience.
