The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum holds weekly Songwriter Sessions on Instagram Live. During these sessions, viewers hear from and interact with the talents behind country music’s biggest hits.
Genre-blending duo The War and Treaty was named Emerging Act of the Year at the 2019 Americana Music Association Honors & Awards on the strength of their debut full-length album, Healing Tide, and energized live performances. Michael and Tanya Trotter met when they shared the stage at a music festival, began collaborating, and eventually married. While Tanya discovered her musical abilities at a young age, Michael found his songwriting prowess after captivating his fellow troops stationed in Iraq and was later tasked with writing and performing songs in memoriam to his unit’s fallen soldiers. They have opened for Brandi Carlile, Al Green, and Jason Isbell, and their latest single, “We Are One,” was released in June.
Tune in to Instagram Live every Tuesday at 8pm CDT for songs and stories from hit songwriters. This interactive program is a spinoff of the museum’s popular Saturday Songwriter Session, a live performance—in which audience questions are welcome—offered weekly in the museum’s Ford Theater. The museum brings this program to your home online through Instagram Live.
