Southern Festival of Books: A Celebration of the Written Word

The Southern Festival of Books: A Celebration of the Written Word is a three-day festival celebrated each year during the second full weekend of October.

The festival annually welcomes more than 200 authors from throughout the nation and in every genre for readings, panel discussions and book signings. Book lovers have the opportunity to hear from and meet some of America’s foremost writers in fiction, history, mystery, food, biography, travel, poetry and children’s literature among others.

The SFB loves kids and kids love the SFB! The festival has events for all ages including panel sessions with renowned children’s and young adult authors, musicians, storytellers, artists, and your favorite book characters.
