Zeitgeist is pleased to present Stolen Moments by Megan Lightell. This collection of new, original works on paper was painted during lock down and provides a soft, meditative reflection that emphasizes the quiet moments of this tumultuous year.
“Since the beginning of this pandemic season I’ve felt such a shift in my time and attention with much higher needs from my family and a restructuring of my studio practice to fit a new daily rhythm. Some days I was only able to quickly sketch an idea to revisit later, a glimpse of the greenway near my house, a small space in my garden, or the view out my studio window. The larger pieces are all based on moments during family outings when I couldn’t paint at that time but wanted to bring those images back to the studio: a familiar tree on our walk in the neighborhood at dusk, a storm rolling in during a trip to the park, the river from my kayak. The collection feels like a series of snapshots from this season when time feels like it moves differently and the present moment has a new urgency.” Megan Lightell
