Make a family trip to visit the Storybook Walk trail in Centennial Park from February 12 to February 21.
The featured book is The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats.
The Snowy Day is a gentle story that revels in the wonder of a day’s snowfall. In 1962, a little boy named Peter put on his snowsuit and stepped out of his house and into the hearts of millions of readers. The Snowy Day is New York Public Library’s #1 book on the list of “Top Check Outs of All Time” and is a favorite book to receive in the Imagination Library book collection. This story follows a child’s wonder at a new world, and the hope of capturing and keeping that wonder forever. The quiet fun and sweetness of Peter’s small adventures in the deep, deep snow is perfect for reading together on a winter day.
The walk starts at the edge of the circular patio on Lake Watauga. The Storybook Walk signs will be on the left side of the path…in line with the permanent Centennial Park History signs.
