Beat the heat and celebrate the Independence Day holiday with the Nashville Symphony at Schermerhorn Symphony Center! It’s an evening of all-American classics, along with some of your favorite patriotic tunes. We’ll go out with a bang — literally! — when the orchestra performs Tchaikovsky’s explosive 1812 Overture.
Program includes:
- Gary Call – Plight of the Common Man
- Copland – Fanfare for the Common Man
- Barber – Knoxville, Summer of 1915
- Gershwin – Cuban Overture
- William Grant Still – Symphony No. 1 "Afro-American"
- George M. Cohan – Medley
- Tchaikovsky – 1812 Overture
- Richard Hayman – Servicemen on Parade
