Tennessee Craft Spring Fair
The 51st Annual Spring Tennessee Craft Fair is back and will feature the perennially popular kids’ art activities and live demonstrations.
Step into the Publix Super Markets Charities Kids’ Tent and enjoy craft making led by Tennessee Craft’s amazing community partners! Volunteers collaborate with nine local non-profit organizations to provide educational art-based activities for the younger fair visitors.
- Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum
- Daybreak Arts (formerly Poverty and the Arts)
- East Nashville Hope Exchange
- Frist Art Museum
- Hatch Show Print
- Shimai Gallery of Contemporary Craft
- Tennessee State Museum
- Turnip Green Creative Reuse
- Wishing Chair Productions Puppet Truck
A variety of activities supported by The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee allows future artists to explore handmade traditions, working with skilled artists and an array of materials and methods. Children can create their own individual artworks and leave the fair with a handmade souvenir. Fair visitors of all ages are invited to participate and share their experience on social media using #myTNcraftcommunity.
Kids’ Tent visitors will have the opportunity to complete a scavenger hunt around the fair for a chance to win a prize, and the Nashville Public Library’s Puppet Truck will present The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County, a puppet show based on Mark Twain’s short story. Performances will be at 10:30AM and 1:30PM on Saturday and Sunday.
The Demonstration Tent is always a popular stop in the fair circuit, showcasing a variety of “how it’s made.” Artists from the Tennessee Association of Woodturners, The Clay Lady’s Campus in Nashville and Betty Turner’s This Little Light Creative Glass Art and Gallery in Old Hickory will be on hand throughout the weekend to offer an up-close glimpse of the process of creating art out of wood, clay and fused and stained glass.
The Spring Tennessee Craft Fair is free and accessible to the public – with free parking and free shuttle service on Saturday and Sunday. Shuttles will run in 15-minute loops from the HCA Parking Lots located on Park Plaza to the Tennessee Craft Fair. Gray Line of Tennessee generously provides this free service.
