The Bridal House celebrates its 200th anniversary this year, having been given as a gift from father to daughter in 1819! In commemoration of this bicentennial achievement, enjoy a day of family fun at The Bridal House! At 11am, reenactors will re-create the Elizabeth Cotton and Richard Hobdy 1819 wedding for guests to witness; The Bridal House was given to Cotton-Hobdy couple as a wedding gift from Elizabeth’s father, Moore Cotton.
Free tours of this historic log cabin will be given throughout the day and 19th century crafts such as a blacksmithing, leatherworking, woodworking, vintage cosmetics, and other trades will be demonstrated for all to see. Live music from Mark & Debbie Lewis sets a festive tone and swings are available for little ones to play on in this park-like setting. Modern vendor Delaney’s Street Eats will be selling food, and snow cones and cotton candy will also be for sale!
