The Rocky Mountain AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship

The Annual AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship is held at Loretta Lynn's Ranch. It’s the largest and most prestigious racing prize for amateur motocross riders in the nation. This is the concluding event following 50 area qualifying events and 12 regional championships around the country. More than 20,000 racers attempted to qualify for the 1,446 available positions.

The racetrack is utilized just twice a year for the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships (since 1982) and AMA ATV Motocross Championship (since 1985). A track used so little ensures a fair playing field, and no "hometown advantage," since no one will have a chance to ride or race on it before the rest of the competition arrives.
