Nov 21 2021

On Sale Friday, September 3 at 10AM

Join Lee C. Camp on November 21st for Tokens Show’s annual Thanksgiving at the Ryman. Nashville’s best variety show will welcome special guests The War and Treaty as well as mandolin plater extraordinaire, Sierra Hull, along with the Tokens Show’s acclaimed house band, The Most Outstanding Horeb Mountain Boys.

For over a decade, The Tokens Show and Lee C. Camp have hosted Thanksgiving at the Ryman. The Tokens Show has been doing philosophical and theological variety shows that imagine a world governed by hospitality, graciousness and joy; life marked by beauty, wonder and truthfulness; and social conditions ordered by justice, mercy and peace-making, since 2008.

Host and Executive Producer Lee C. Camp is Professor of Theology and Ethics in the Hazelip School of Theology at Lipscomb University, and conceived the variety show when his students would often point him to Americana, folk, and contemporary music in response to his lectures on matters such as social justice, war and peace, or practices of reconciliation. Tokens has produced shows as far afield as Malibu, California to Lake Junaluska, North Carolina; Abilene, Texas to Dayton, Tennessee.

In 2020, Tokens launched three online courses (including a master course with theologian Miroslav Volf) and a podcast (now in its fourth season) welcoming guests like Grammy Award Winner Vince Gill and Macarthur Genius grant recipient Jerry Mitchell. This past December, a brand-new Tokens radio show launched through Nashville Public Radio.
