Presented by Lackland Theatre & The School at Nashville Shakespeare Festival, this hilarious and poignant comedy will bring you to tears of all kinds. Come with tissues, shoes you can dance in, and a friend to share the experience with!
This brilliant comedy centers around twins Viola and Sebastian, who are tragically separated in a shipwreck. Viola, who disguises herself as a young man named Cesario, falls in love with the man she works for – Duke Orsino. Orsino, meanwhile, is hung up on the rich Countess Olivia, and sends Cesario to woo her. Olivia falls in love with Cesario (who is really Viola), and the epic love triangle only gets more and more tangled as things progress. Will the twins be reunited? Will Viola get to be with the man she loves? Will Sir Toby and Sir Andrew’s drunken shenanigans do more harm than intended? Romance, pranks, mistaken identities, and LOTS of drama make this classic Shakespearean comedy a true delight.
