Two Day Waterfall and Landscape Photography Tour
Please note, this event has expired.
Join park Rangers and professional photographer David Duplessis of Tennessee Photographs, for a two day course that includes not only some amazing hiking on South Cumberland State Park’s Fiery Gizzard Trail (cited by Backpacker magazine as one of the top 25 hiking trails in the U.S.) and at Rock Island, but you’ll also learn and practice taking photographs of some amazing landscapes, waterfalls, cascades, rivers, and more!
This class is designed for anyone who wants to learn about waterfall and landscape photography! Please bring your DSLR, lenses, & a tripod w/shutter release. Some of the hiking involved is quite strenuous, so please bear that in mind and wear appropriate clothing & shoes*. Also, bring plenty of water as well as your own snacks & lunch.
On June 20th, we’ll meet at 8am at the Fiery Gizzard Trailhead (131 Fiery Gizzard Rd) and we anticipate a hike (with lots of time for photography built in) of 2-3 miles this day. Plan on an 8:00AM-2:00PM tour.
On June 21st, we’ll meet at 8am at the Rock Island State Park Blue Hole Trailhead (second road on the right past the park office). After exploring the Blue Hole Falls (the hike is short but hazardous) we’ll caravan to other locations within the park. There will be some short bursts of strenuous hiking involved throughout the day. Plan on an 8:00AM-2:00PM tour.
Price of $150.00 includes both days of photography and hiking adventure.
*There is every possibility you’ll need to stand or move through water, or water will spray or drop on you and your equipment. So please be aware of that, and pack accordingly.
