In 1920, the nation was in the grips of a heated debate about the women’s suffrage movement. Equally as taxing, at the same time, prohibition became the law of the land. In fact, during this era, The Hermitage Hotel was caught serving whiskey in tea cups to fool the authorities.
Join at Uncle Nearest, August 17 to toast the trailblazing women of the suffrage movement who held a strong vision for the future of the country. They will begin the evening with a ladies only toast in the Oak Bar, followed by a three-course dinner with cocktail pairings from Uncle Nearest. Guests might even see whiskey finding its way in to some teacups throughout the evening.
Tickets are $150 per person (inclusive of tax and service charge)
*A note on social distancing: The Hermitage Hotel has partnered with Meharry Medical Center to ensure the utmost safety in practices for our employees and guests. For The Uncle Nearest Toast to Women, we have designed the event with care and distancing in mind. The room will be at no more than 50% capacity with all tables spaced more than 6 feet apart, all menus will be single-use, guests are asked to wear masks when entering the building and until they are seated, when moving around the building, as well as when exiting.
