Parents Weekend Extravaganza

Blair’s best student performing ensembles come together for a Parents Weekend showcase that’s loaded with musical fireworks. The Vanderbilt University Orchestra will perform a true classical classic, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5. The Vanderbilt Wind Symphony goes to the musical theater, performing the thrilling Symphonic Dances from West Side Story. The Blair Big Band heads for the islands with director Ryan Middagh’s own arrangement of George Gershwin’s dance-infused Cuban Overture. And the Vanderbilt Chorale puts a Southern spin on the sacred, singing the “Gloria” from Carol Barnett’s innovative Bluegrass Mass.

Presented with gratitude to the parents of a current Blair School student for their generous support
