Brian Macdonald (of Judah & the Lion) and Miles Patzer started off as random suite-mates 4 years ago at Belmont University. On April 14th they will come together to play a co-bill release show at the Hi-Watt for their separate projects HOSTS (Patzer) and Victor Mucho (Macdonald). Both parties grew up in the northern/midwest; Patzer blends folk-singer songwriter with his demanding vocals accented by a smooth lap steel, while Macdonald mixes a chill chicago-indie vibe with skillful mandolin powered by drums. Whether they like it or not, both Patzer and Macdonald have picked up a southern influence in their music since they moved to Nashville. HOSTS new LP "Last Night of Gold," is reminiscent of Bright Eyes, Jason Isbell, and Sturgill Simpson, pushing the boundaries of folk songwriting by adding a classic country style band. Victor Mucho will release his debut self titled EP, resembling songwriters like Jon Foreman (Switchfoot) Andrew Belle, and Chris Thile, but with the presence of a full band.
