Vox Grata Women's Choir concert: Anonymous was a Woman
Vox Grata Women’s Choir with guest artists from Music City Baroque presents Anonymous was a Woman, a concert benefiting the non-profit Creative Girls Rock. Performances are scheduled May 4th and 9th – both in-person and live streamed.
Vox Grata Women’s Choir presents Anonymous was a Woman. Featuring choral works composed by women throughout the ages, this concert shines a light on underrepresented and often ignored artists. Of special significance will be works composed by three women composers from the Baroque/Italian convent tradition — Isabella Leonarda, Raffaella Aleotti, and Chiara Margarita Cozzolani. These pieces will be accompanied by members of the professional ensemble, Music City Baroque.
Two performances are scheduled – Thursday, May 4th at Second Presbyterian Church, Nashville at 7:30 PM and Tuesday, May 9th at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Nashville, at 7:30 PM. Both concerts will also be livestreamed with links available via Vox Grata’s website and Facebook page. Proceeds from this concert series benefit Creative Girls Rock, a non-profit that provides instructional information and inspiration to young women to enhance creativity and personal development.
Admission is gratis with a voluntary free will offering.
Support for these concerts is provided, in part, by grants from Metro Arts Nashville and the Tennessee Arts Commission.
