Willie Nelson & Family
Willie Nelson returns to Nashville in November for two intimate CMA Theater shows, as part of his Willie Nelson & Family Tour.
The Country Music Hall of Fame member’s May 1 and 2 performances come during a year that brought his tenth GRAMMY win, and brings the release of a new album, First Rose of Spring.
Inside one week, Willie Nelson wrote “Crazy,” “Funny How Time Slips Away,” and “Night Life,” and took off for Nashville, Tennessee. A six-decade career filled with more than 200 albums, enduring hits, film roles, accolades, and Country Music Hall of Fame membership followed.
Nelson’s cultural influence spans decades; his cultural prominence continues. The singer-songwriter began 2020 earning a tenth GRAMMY award (Best Country Solo Performance for “Ride Me Back Home,” the title track of his 2019 studio album), and in April, releases First Rose of Spring, a set of newly recorded songs that once again showcase his signature way with words.
Nelson also figures prominently in the Museum’s major exhibition, Outlaws & Armadillos: Country’s Roaring ‘70s. On display through February 14, 2021, the exhibition chronicles a creatively vibrant time in country music, and the relationship and cultural exchange between Austin, Texas, and Nashville, Tennessee, offering insight into the lives and careers of Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, Bobby Bare, Guy Clark, and many others.
Tyler Booth will perform on November 13 and Ben Burgess will perform on November 14.
Tickets for Nelson's Nashville shows are on sale now.
