RESCHEDULED - Wilson County Fair
When agricultural fair season rolls around this year, the Tennessee State Fair will make history by taking place in conjunction with the Wilson County Fair. Wilson County Promotions announced today that the legislature has approved the Tennessee State Fair to join with the Wilson County Fair (subject to final signatures from the Governor and State). The fair will be named Wilson County Fair-Tennessee State Fair. The fair dates will be August 12-21 at the James E. Ward Agriculture Center with the fair now operating for ten days. The 2021 theme will be “Honoring Hometown Heroes.”
Things are already “buzzing” as the Wilson County Fair is just around the corner!
The Wilson County Fair remains a community and agriculturally based fair. The fair promotes beef cattle, dairy cattle, goats, sheep, hogs, horses, mules and donkeys, row crops, forages, canning, baking, crafts, photography, art, quilts, lots of different types of handmade items, vegetables, flowers, fruits, dogs and cats and bees for every fair goers.
There are tractor pulls, demolition derbies, and music entertainment on five stages. Don’t miss taking a stroll through Fiddlers Grove Historic Village and step back in time and remember how people use to live. See broom making, weaving, corn shuck dolls, garden demonstrations, outdoor cooking, basket making, blacksmithing, gristmill where they grind corn into corn meal, making of molasses, and grab a coke at the old time General Store.
There are rides and all kinds of fair food that is sure to put smiles on faces and make memories for the whole family that will last a lifetime. WOW – this list could go on and on. You just need to come and “Taste the Fun” at this year’s fair.
