Young Leaders Council 30th Anniversary Celebration Dinner

Young Leaders Council (YLC), a Nashville-based nonprofit organization that has trained more than 2,000 men and women to effectively participate on the boards of nonprofit agencies for the past 30 years, presents guest speaker Phil Bredesen, former Governor of Tennessee and Mayor of Nashville, at the YLC 30th Anniversary Celebration Dinner on Monday, October 12, 2015, from 5:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m., at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel, located at 2100 West End Avenue. There is a $60 charge per person for the dinner and program or $600 for a table of ten.

In addition to serving as Governor of Tennessee from 2003 until 2011 and Mayor of Nashville from 1991 to 1999, Bredesen is the author of Fresh Medicine: How to Fix Reform and Build a Sustainable Health Care System and a frequent speaker to national audiences on health care, political leadership and other topics. Prior to Bredesen’s keynote address on leadership lessons and giving back to the community, Legacy Awards will be presented to companies who have regularly sent their employees through the YLC program and donated to YLC events over the past decade. The Junior League of Nashville, Williamson Chamber, and Jackson National will be recognized for their annual partnerships with YLC that produce an additional 50 graduates of the nonprofit board training program a year. The Young Leader of the Year Award will also be presented to a graduate of the YLC training program from the past 30 years who has made significant contributions to the fulfillment of the YLC mission, as well as demonstrated a commitment to ongoing community service and board leadership to local nonprofit organizations.
