Young Leaders Council Fall Leadership Luncheon

Now in its 21st year, the YLC annual fall event provides an opportunity to gather young business professionals, as well as nonprofit and corporate individuals, to network and to hear about important issues affecting the nonprofit community.

Young Leaders Council presents guest speaker Christine Karbowiak, chief administrative officer, chief risk officer and executive vice president of Bridgestone Americas, at its annual Fall Leadership Luncheon. With nearly 25 years of service with Bridgestone Americas, Karbowiak is also active in a number of community organizations and volunteer efforts, and has been named Volunteer of the Year by the Nashville Chapter of the YMCA and the Nashville Sports Council and honoree of Nashville Business Journal Woman of Influence and YWCA Academy of Women of Achievement.

Since 1985, Young Leaders Council has been the premier organization for training nonprofit board members in the Nashville area and was created to address the need to broaden and strengthen Nashville’s volunteer leadership base by training diverse and committed individuals to effectively participate on the boards of nonprofit organizations. In the 31 years since its founding, more than 2,500 YLC graduates have served on the boards of 250 nonprofit organizations in the middle Tennessee area with approximately 130 graduates entering the nonprofit community each year from four YLC classes, including two in Davidson County and two in partnership with the Junior League of Nashville and Williamson Chamber.
