Zombies in Pop Culture

Presented by Nashville Public Library at Nashville Public Library - Main Library, Nashville TN

Sep 19 2015
Zombies in Pop Culture

The recent zombie invasion of pop culture has led many to wonder about the rise of the walking dead. Local professor and author Chris Paris talks about the origins of zombies, looking to anthropology, religion, and folklore for answers. Paris graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Ph.D. in Religion. He teaches courses in Bible, Comparative Religion, and Cultural Studies, and wrote the book Narrative Obtrusion in the Hebrew Bible. His research focuses on narrative criticism and pop culture.
