The longest-running and largest film festival in the south, the 46th edition of the Nashville Film Festival presented by Nissan opens tonight, Thursday, April 16 at the Regal Green Hills Cinemas, and runs through Saturday, April 25. The Festival includes over 200 films, including narrative features, documentaries, shorts, plus panels, music events and parties. This being Music City, there’s a special emphasis on Music Films — the Music Films/Music City Category is one-of-a-kind on the festival circuit. The Festival also shines a bright light on Tennessee-made films and filmmakers, with it’s Tennessee First opening night and multiple shorts collections. You can start digging into the schedule here.
As part of our ongoing media sponsorship of the Festival, we’ll be offering a limited batch of free tickets each day to films screening the following day. This is a great opportunity to catch some incredible films from around the world and save a few bucks. Here’s how it works: each day, hopefully by 5 p.m. (things get hectic at the Festival and at NowPlayingNashville.com … you’ll have to give us some leeway), we’ll post several films on our special Nashville Film Festival page located here. Go ahead and bookmark that page now and check it daily. We’ll also post updates to our Twitter and Facebook pages. If you don’t find your way to the ticket through those methods, you can always click on the graphic placed prominently on our home page. Clearly, we want you to find these tickets, so by all means, go ahead and take advantage of them!
Once you get to the page and find a film you want to see, simply click through the “Click Here” prompt, and print out your ticket to take to the Festival. That’s it. Easy. All Films are screened on the lower level of the Regal Green Hills Theatre, and there’s a fancy new parking lot back there now if you enter on the Cleghorn Ave side.
