Coming to Nashville and the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl 2015 is Louisville (ACC) and Texas A&M (SEC) on Wednesday, December 30 at Nissan Stadium.
This year, Texas A&M (8-4) started off with a strong season winning 5 games in a row, 2 being SEC conference games. Their fall to Alabama in mid-October left them in a downward spiral losing 4 games all to SEC teams. Texas A&M finished out 6th in the SEC West Division, 41 in CBS Sports Rankings and 37 in the Coaches Poll.
Louisville (7-5), however, started off the season exactly opposite to A&M. Louisville lost 3 straight games in a row, 1 being an ACC conference game. While the start to the season seemed less hopeful, they made up for it after those 3 losses, winning 7 more games and only losing 2 (close games). Louisville ended their season ranked 3rd in the ACC Atlantic Division, 56 in CBS Sports Rankings and 39 in the Coaches Poll.
So while the rankings or wins vs. losses may not be impressive, the season schedule and games are relative. It’s easy to see how a team can comeback from starting out the season on the wrong foot or how a team can still finish out strong with a tough SEC schedule. The Music City Bowl with Louisville vs. Texas A&M is one NOT TO MISS! My prediction is that it will be a close game and one that will keep watching until the end.
