Bowl games have officially been announced across the country. Coming to Nashville and the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl is LSU and Notre Dame on Tuesday, December 30 at LP Field. This year, LSU (8-4) was ranked #23, according to CBS’ Playoff Rankings for 2014. Notre Dame (7-5) isn’t even shown in the list of rankings, but had over six wins for the season, making them bowl eligible. Both teams have never been to the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl before, so who will you root for – The Fighting Irish or The LSU Tigers? Regardless, there will be a sea of yellow, or should I say gold, mixed with purple and blue throughout the downtown area, during the bowl week festivities. Events include private invitation only type of events or things like the following that are open to the public:

As an Ole Miss alum and winner of the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl last year, I had a blast at all of the activities surrounding the game. It was my first ever college bowl game experience. Yes, I was 30 before I ever went to a college bowl game. The Liberty Bowl in Memphis doesn’t count for me, as I grew up with parents who were Memphis State season ticket holders. Needless to say, it was a proud day to be an Ole Miss Rebel and Nashvillian! Besides all of the other activities happening around the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, like the Jack Daniel’s Bash on Broadway or the Nashville Predators hockey game, I encourage you to make a weekend out of it – arrive early and stay through New Year’s. Visit Music City is even offering a hotel package deal right now and other things to take advantage of for bowl week. Packages include a one night minimum stay and tickets to the game … you can’t beat that!
