Multi-platinum-selling recording artist Josh Turner’s first ever Christmas album, King Size Manger.
Previously, Turner released a new studio recording of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” and the title track of the record “King Size Manger”as teasers to the album. On “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” Turner is joined by his wife Jennifer and his four sons who sing on the holiday classic.
The album features fresh interpretations of the Christmas classics and introduces four originals, three of which were written by Turner.
One of the songs co-written by Turner and longtime writing partner Mark Narmore, “King Size Manger” tells the prophecy and story of Jesus’ birth powerfully delivered through simple words and amplified by Turner’s ardent and honest delivery.
“I ended up with three originals on this record of mine but if I would have picked one out of all of those it would still be King Size Manger,” says Turner.
“That really kind of tells the story about how there had been so many prophesies of a Messiah coming and being born and so He fulfilled all the prophesies and then some. It obviously made an impact, we set our calendar by it, and it’s hope in a hopeless world that God would send his only son for us to set an example and show us a new way. It’s about belief, it’s about grace, it’s about hope, it’s about love, and I’m proud that the title track of this record tells that story to some extent and that to me is the reason for the season.”
