The Global Education Center is a nonprofit arts education center for students, teachers and the community in the area of multicultural, anti-bias education. Using the arts as a pathway to understanding the various cultural, ethnic and religious groups residing in the community, the Center's staff and teaching and performing artists present ongoing classes, workshops, lecture-demonstrations and performances to promote cross-cultural understanding and respect. The overall goal is to highlight the commonalties of all people while creating experiences in the arts that aid in dispelling myths, dismantling stereotypes and unlearning biases.

At Good Neighbor Festivals (formerly JD Events and Festivals), we don’t just produce and manage great festivals, we create meaningful experiences that build communities by bringing people together around shared interests. Good Neighbor festivals strives to create long lasting festivals that support the communities we love. We develop and manage all facets of special events. Specifically marketing, promotion, production, strategic planning and sponsorship sales. We’re involved in events that bring people together, inspire them, and stimulate their minds. Jack Davis has been managing large scale events for over 16 years. He started in arena management and moved to outdoor festivals and concerts with JD Events and Festivals in 2014 which became good neighbor festivals in 2017. Source: Official Website.

Grand Master Fiddler Championship

Since 1972, the Grand Masters has been recognized as the premier competition of its kind in the United States. They remain loyal to their heritage and since 2004 have held IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. Their commitment to our mission statement, support from the community, and support from fans like you have secured this event for future generations to enjoy. Their primary goal is to engage a younger and more diverse audience in order to preserve fiddle music. For years, the average age of the Top 10 contestants was over 40 and mostly men. Today, it’s almost evenly split between men and women under the age of 22, and the girls have won the majority of the titles since 2005. Their success will always be measured by our effectiveness to engage the next generation.

Hendersonville Handmade Market

The Hendersonville Handmade Market events are hosted by City Sisters Clothing and held throughout the year at Hendersonville City Hall. We bring makers from across Middle Tennessee to our beautiful City by the Lake. There are a variety of vendors, food trucks and arts and crafts for the kids.

HolidayFest

HolidayFest is a non-profit community service organization whose purpose is an annual festival which brings together the entire Hendersonville and adjoining Sumner County community during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. HolidayFest joins the people, businesses, government and service organizations of the community. The activities have two primary benefits: they monetarily help worthy non-profit causes while bringing substantial business and tourism dollars to the community. HolidayFest does this by attracting thousands of visitors to Sumner County to celebrate the spirit of the season during the months of October, November and December, at the same time they have designed numerous activities supporting and promoting a number of non-profit events that take place during this time period. HolidayFest also helps train the nonprofits in their fundraising efforts during these holiday associated events. In 2007, Lynda Evjen was new to Sumner County and she was asked about creating something to replace the standard seasonal bake sales. Lynda had an idea to create (#1) a Gingerbread Competition and she approached Keller Williams Realty as a sponsor. Keller Williams through its then agent, Steve Luther had just taken over the (#2) Hendersonville City Parade and they decided to add that to the weekend to create a small festival. Local business owners, including Janna (JJ) von Kessel of the UPS Store thought it would be good to honor local businesses as well. At the same time, the concept of the (#3) St. Nicholas Ball was created and held at a local church. From these three people and three events in the 2007 Christmas season, HolidayFest was born. The purpose of the Houston County Fair, Inc. is to promote the education and welfare of Houston Countians and its youth through our annual celebration of our heritage, culture, and community. The Houston Co. Fair, Inc. strives to meet these goals by providing educational experiences, and friendly competition in a wholesome environment. The Fair is a charitable event, which provides educational events for both youth and adults. The Fair's objective is to aid the community through the advancement of agricultural and consumer sciences, as well as provide an opportunity for participation in cultural arts. The Fair also attempts to lessen neighborhood tensions, by bringing the community together for an area-wide event. The Fair will also strive to erect and/or maintain public facilities for education on horticultural and agricultural subjects as well as for recreation enjoyment.on and recreation unite in a cooperative effort to portray dynamically, the resources and accomplishments of Houston County. International Folkloric Society

Since 1986, the International Folkloric Society, a local non-profit organization based in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, seeks to promote and preserve international cultural heritage with a primary focus on the arts. This organization has played a large role in organizing the International Folkfest, making it possible for overseas performers to bring their talents and heritage to our local communities as well as sending traditional Appalachian dancers and musicians to festivals all over the world . Jammin' at Hippie Jack's/Council of Americana Roots Music

The Council of Americana Roots Music, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 2010 with a mutual benefit of cultural enrichment and community service. Our mission is to promote, present, and preserve Americana roots music, while serving the under-served people of Appalachia with fairness, dignity, and compassion. Programming includes production of a 16- episode annual public television series titled, Jammin at Hippie Jack’s (JAHJ). This half-hour music television series is dedicated to the preservation and presentation of original singer songwriters of historically significant forms of Americana grassroots music. The series is currently distributed by the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) to public television stations, libraries, and educational institutions throughout the nation. Additional initiatives include a regional radio program, The Hippie Jack Radio Hour, broadcast on WDVX radio in Knoxville and the East Tennessee region and worldwide at www.wdvx.com; a public engagement music festival held in May, and a series of benefit concerts through out the year. Muddy Roots Music

Muddy Roots began in 2010 as an annual music festival at the June Bug Boogie Ranch in Cookeville, Tennessee. The music festival included camping, vendors, a car show, and a pin-up pageant. In 2012, the festival expanded to Europe at the Cowboy Up Steakhouse Saloon in Waardamme, Belgium and featured the same blend of musical styles as the festival held in Tennessee. Muddy Roots announced a third separate festival would be held in May 2013 at the Red River Canoe Campground in Adams, Tennessee, called the Muddy Roots Spring Weekender. All of the Muddy Roots music festivals featured musicians of varying genres, including country, blues, rock and roll, rockabilly, punk rock, bluegrass and folk. Source: Wikipedia

Musicians Corner

Musicians Corner, a program of Conservancy for Centennial Park, provides free public access to live music in Nashville's Centennial Park. The program presents 22 events annually in May / June and September, and since its inception in 2010, Musicians Corner has showcased over 1,500 artists including legends such as Emmylou Harris, Chris Stapleton, Vince Gill, The Blind Boys of Alabama, and Preservation Hall Jazz Band. As part of the Centennial Park Restoration, a permanent venue was built for Musicians Corner in the southwest corner of Centennial Park.
