For over 75 years, Adventure Science Center has been bringing science to life for students, teachers, and families in Middle Tennessee and across the U.S. The science center offers engaging learning experiences and science fun through hands-on, interactive exhibits, innovative programs, and full-dome productions in the state-of-the-art Sudekum Planetarium. The Frist Art Museum opened in April 2001, and since that time has hosted a spectacular array of art from the region and from around the world. The Frist Art Museum was conceived as a family-friendly place and one of the most popular locations in the center is the innovative Martin ArtQuest Gallery. It’s a colorful space alive with the sounds of learning through making art! ArtQuest activities abound for people of all ages. Nashville Jewish Film Festival

The Nashville Jewish Film Festival (NJFF) is a program of the Gordon Jewish Community Center (GJCC). In 2021 the NJFF celebrated its 21st year of bringing educational, entertaining and thought-provoking Jewish-themed films to the Nashville community. The NJFF aims to create a forum for the wider Nashville community to understand the complexity of issues surrounding Jewish life in contemporary society. The films chosen each year are meant to demonstrate the breadth and depth of the Jewish cultural, religious, historical, and social conditions of the modern era. Along with special guests, panels, and Opening and Closing Night celebrations, the NJFF is an annual event dedicated to the awareness and celebration of Jewish life in contemporary society. In 2008, NJFF dedicated its program to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the state of Israel with such award winning films as “Noodle” and “Strangers.” The 2009 NJFF returned to focus on the broad scope of the Jewish experience with such festival favorites as “A Matter of Size,” “Holy Land Hardball” and “Lemon Tree,” the Australian animation, “Mary & Max,” the Israeli box office hit, “Lost Islands” and more. Each year NJFF presents the Annual Kathryn H. Gutow Student Film Competition. Originating in 2005 and named in memory of the co-founder of the festival, the competition features student films with Jewish theme or content from campuses around the world. Student filmmakers will be eligible for a $1000 cash prize made possible by the Kathryn H. Gutow Fund for Jewish Arts and Culture and Creative Artists Agency (CAA). Nashville Education, Community, and Arts Television (NECAT) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with a mission that is twofold: 1. Expose Middle Tennessee viewers to arts and education programming created both locally and around the world. 2. Teach individuals and organizations who wish to make TV shows how to do so, let them use our equipment and resources, then broadcast those shows for them. We run three public television channels that have served the community since the 1970s. These channels are Music City Arts (our arts channel), iQtv (our education channel), and Access Nashville (our community access channel). All three channels are 24 hours a day and are broadcast on television via Comcast channels 9, 10, and 19 in Davidson County, via AT&T U-Verse channel 99 in 19 Middle Tennessee counties*, and live-streamed on the internet 24 hours a day. OZ Arts is an inspiring destination for world-class, innovative contemporary art experiences. The Ozgener family have been Nashville residents since 1968, and are internationally recognized for innovation in their entrepreneurial endeavors. Having built one of the world’s foremost cigar companies—in spite of the puzzlement of so many in their field that such a company could emerge in Nashville, Tennessee—the Ozgeners brought unprecedented artistry to cigars and, previously, humidors and Meerschaum pipes. Having sold the company, CAO Cigars, the family adapted their former headquarters into a contemporary performance & installation space and event center. In 2013, the Ozgener family established the non-profit cultural institution, OZ, as a gift back to the city and country that have been so hospitable to them as first-generation, Turkish-Armenian immigrants.

Tennessee Stage & Film Co.

The "Tennessee Stage & Film Co." is a TN registered non profit organization with the principal mission to bring "History to the Stage". Our first historical offering was entitled "The Ryman Diary's". It formally premiered before Gallatin Middle school children in November of 2014. The two act musical chronicles the life and times of Captain Tom Ryman and wife Bettie Baugh as they work their way up from a fishing boat to 35 steam ships, and culminate with the building of the Union Gospel Tabernacle. Since then we have developed, staged, and added to our offerings an additional eleven shows and presentations, varying in length from 20 minutes to 2 1/2 hours. Currently we have another five shows in development scheduled to premiere by the end of 2020. A descriptive brochure is available which highlights the subject of each offering, however your system, was not able to upload the file. In general our audiences are private groups/organizations such as schools, churches, and civic groups. But each of our offerings have been presented before the general public in at least one theatrical occasion.

Tennessee Women's Theater Project (CLOSED)

THIS ORGANIZATION PERMANENTLY CLOSED SEPTEMBER 2021 Founded in 2005, Tennessee Women's Theater Project produces plays that express the human condition in the female voice and provides acting, directing, design and management opportunities for women in professional theater. Our annual Women's Work Festival, founded in 2007, is the first and still the only celebration focused on the work of women artists, from dance to theater to music, poetry, film, storytelling, circus, comedy and classical clown performance, to visual arts including all media. From the beginning we have also conducted theater arts and storytelling classes. At present these free classes are offered to children who use the Looby Community and Recreation Center after school.
