Watkins College of Art at Belmont University
As of December 9, 2020, Watkins College of Art is now the Watkins College of Art at Belmont University. This merger of these two great institutions, both more than 130 years old, allows for the Watkins College of Art to thrive for years to come as part of a larger and financially stable institution that can offer greater resources and opportunities to art, design and film students.
The Watkins College of Art celebrates the power of art and design to transform people, communities, cultures and the world. Our experienced faculty and state-of-the-art facilities help foster an environment where students are offered numerous opportunities to explore their creative talents in a variety of fields in a community of learning and service. Watkins strives to create a unique environment for students to grow both personally and professionally through the encouragement of autonomy and fostering collaboration among peers.
Small class sizes and outstanding student-faculty ratios allow students to be individually challenged as they develop their own unique strengths. Watkins programs are academically rigorous and taught by exceptional faculty members with significant industry experience.
