Encore Theatrical Company
In 2006, a group of actors, musicians, educators, and theatre artists came together to discuss the state of performing arts in the Lakeway Area. We began to identify the need for a reputable performing arts company that would provide quality entertainment and arts education for audiences and artists alike. They set out to improve the quality of life in their community, to produce exciting plays and musicals, and to promote the performing arts in their region. The founding company members sought out community leaders and business executives who identified the importance of the quality of life. Through the generous support of founding patrons, corporate sponsors, trustees and company members, Encore Theatrical Company was incorporated in the fall of 2006. They spent months preparing and planning, forming a business plan, gathering community support, and planning the kickoff. On December 17, 2006, they held a community party where the new company was unveiled.
Their inaugural season begin in April of 2007 with their first production of Peter Pan. With the generous support and partnership of Walters State Community College, they found a facility to produce their productions in the William H. Inman Humanities Theatre on the Morristown campus.
Encore Theatrical Company believes in the power of the arts. Through live performances and educational programs, they will provide quality entertainment by creating opportunities for the artistic minds in their region to exercise, nurture, and grow their talents. By cultivating and promoting the performing arts, they will improve the quality of life in the Lakeway Area.
The Encore Theatrical Company Office and Classroom are located at 188 W Main Street, Morristown, TN 37814 and are open Monday through Friday from 1PM-5PM. (Please Note: They do not receive mail, packages or deliveries at this address. Their mailing address is PO Box 394, Morristown, TN 37815.
