Completed in 1853 by Adelicia Acklen, the Belmont Mansion was recognized as one of the most elaborate and unusual homes in the South.

Belmont Mansion is an Italianate villa constructed between the years 1849 and 1853. Through the years, it has been the summer home for Nashville socialite Adelicia Acklen and her family, temporary headquarters of the Union army, and an all-girls college and seminary.
