Belmont is among the fastest growing Christian universities in the nation with more than 5,900 students hailing from every state and 25 countries. Since 2000, enrollment has risen from just under 3,000 to 5,936 students for 2010-11, marking an increase of 99 percent. As enrollment steadily increases, so does the quality and diversity of each new class. Incoming 2010-11 freshmen represented 44 states and four foreign countries and scored an average of 26 on the ACT.
In the annual U.S. News & World Report ranking of America’s best colleges and universities, Belmont was cited for the third year in a row as a Top School to Watch and was ranked fifth in the Regional Universities South category, the highest ranking for the university to date. Once again, Belmont was also the highest ranked university in Tennessee in this category and was praised for its commitment to undergraduate teaching and the strength of its learning communities.
