Hillsboro Village stalwart Cabana makes Southern-style small plates – known as appetizers back in the day –  a star of the show rather than a sidelight. That’s just one reason the restaurant and bar, opened by noted restaurateur Randy Rayburn (Midtown Cafe) in 2005, has been among the go-to spots for meetings and charity benefits large and small, as well as one of the city’s most popular spots for late-night dining. The restaurant’s name comes from its intimately recessed, semi-private cabanas. The back room features garage doors that can be lifted when weather permits to create a casual, open-air feel.

Kids menu. Full bar. Serving dinner 4-9:30 pm Sun-Thu, 4 pm-11 Fri-Sat. Happy hour drink specials 4-6 pm Sun-Thu. Drink and food specials throughout the week.

MUST EATS: Sweet potato biscuits, bison sliders, lobster Brie mac & cheese martini, spicy shrimp & cheddar grits
