Sisters Norma and Irma-Bernstein Paz grew up eating paletas — the frozen confections made from pureed fresh seasonal fruits and even vegetables, and sometimes mixed with cream — in their native Guadalajara, Mexico. Fortunately, they later moved to Nashville and opened their own store, Las Paletas, a longtime fixture in 12 South. The gourmet treats are not cheap, but worth every penny. After closing their 12 South store during the pandemic in 2020, Las Paletas has reopened for summer 2021 as a takeout-only popup in the former Fetch space in Hillsboro Village next to coffeehouse Fido, owned by Irma’s husband, Bob Bernstein during summer months.

Open 11 am-2 pm Tues, 11 am-7 pm Wed-Thu, 11 am-8 pm Fri-Sat, 11 am-5 pm Sun. Closed Mon.
