The Nashville Sounds are a minor league baseball team of the Pacific Coast League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. Located in Nashville, they are named for the city’s association with the music industry. The inaugural season of Nashville Sounds baseball was in 1978 as the Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. Over the last 41 years, over 1,250 players have donned a Sounds uniform and more than 750 of those players have played in the big leagues.
