National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM)

National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM)

Opening January 2021, the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM) will be the only museum in the nation with a dedicated focus on all dimensions of the contributions African Americans have made to American music, NMAAM will encompass musical distinctions that reinforce the impact of African Americans across the country and around the world. It is because of these contributions that we have the ability to celebrate the many components of America’s music.
Telling the comprehensive story of how African Americans have impacted music is a logical fit with Nashville’s Music City brand and will enhance her reputation as ‘the place’ for all things music.
