Husband-and-wife team Tony and Caroline Galzin left their first successful restaurant, Fifty First Kitchen & Bar, and immediately went into preparing for their next project, Nicky’s Coal Fired. Its December 2016 opening in The Nations neighborhood continues to draw raves for executive chef Tony Galzin’s coal-fired menu of pizzas and house-made Italian pastas. The restaurant transitioned to a fast-casual concept during spring 2020 due to the pandemic, adding a weekend bagel shop.

Full bar. Open 3-8 pm Wed-Sun. Bagel shop open 10:30 am-2 pm Sat-Sun. Closed Tue.

MUST EATS: Daily red and white pizza pies, antipasti, meatballs.
