Chef-owner Philip Krajeck continues to garner rave reviews locally and nationally for his modern, European-influenced peasant food at Rolf & Daughters, open since fall 2012 in the former Werthan factory building’s former boiler room in Germantown. “Small … fun … focused … seasonal” is the mantra here, and the short but scintillating menu bears it out. Expect a few fabulous pastas — Bon Appetit magazine named it the nation’s No. 3 Best New Restaurant in 2013 because of them — along with an array of small-plate delights as well as a few entrees. Reservations highly suggested, but communal tables and the bar always are open for walk-in guests.
