Our Mission The Sumner County Fire Buffs Association is completely 100% Volunteer Service & a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that supports all responders in Sumner County TN at the request of the Incident Commander. This includes all Fire Departments, Police Departments, Sheriffs Office, Emergency Medical Services, & Emergency Management with emergency operations. Sumner County Fire Buffs Association (Rehab 83) provides on scene support to responders by providing much needed such supplies such as drinks for hydration, snacks to replace burnt glycogen in muscles and the liver, a controlled place away from the hot zone to rest & recover while having an assessment completed by EMS providers on scene. As the weather may play a factor into on-scene rehab, Rehab 83 response truck carries two 10X10 canopies the can be set up to remove responders from the direct sunlight for cooling, and from times while it rains when they need a place for rest. Rehab 83 has one (1) response truck that is stored inside at Shackle Island Volunteer Fire Department. Our team is made up of 13 volunteers to provides services to all of Sumner County. Rehab 83 has a partnership in place with Wilson County Emergency Services Rehab Association (Rehab 23) & Nashville Fire Department Box 55 to assist them with larger incidents when needed. Sumner County Fire Buffs Association (Rehab 83) operates completely on donations of the citizens & business owners of Sumner County. We have fundraise throughout the year
