The signature restaurant of downtown’s iconic and glittering Hermitage Hotel and open since 1910, Capitol Grille remains one of the city’s top fine dining experiences. Expect seasonal upscale Southern cuisine from a kitchen that has spotlighted some of the region’s top chefs, with James Beard Award-winning Sean Brock (Husk) among its alums. The restaurant offers a true farm-to-table experience, with all produce and beef grown on The Hermitage Hotel’s own 250-acre farm. The neighboring Oak Bar, and the acclaimed Art Deco men’s restroom, have their own pedigrees of excellence.

Full bar. Serving breakfast 6:30-11 am, lunch 11:30 am-2 pm, and dinner 5-10 pm daily. Sun brunch 11 am-2 pm.

MUST EATS: Sweet onion bisque, steak, wild-caught scallops, vegetable sides

“When navigating the maelstrom of change in our city (construction, cranes, detours, delays, new-new-new here, there, everywhere), it’s worth remembering that there are some Old Nashville places that offer a kind of sanctuary from that storm. The Capitol Grille, tucked within the Hermitage Hotel and long revered for its serene, refined dining and Southern sensibilities, is such a place.”
