British Airways will usher in 2018 – the year it inaugurates nonstop service between Music City and London – with a 6pm CST/Midnight U.K. time countdown led by Nashville Mayor Megan Barry and English rocker Peter Frampton.
British Airways will partner with the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation (NCVC) to host a pop-up English pub for all guests at the famed New Year’s Eve celebration, to be held at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park on Sunday, Dec 31.
The British New Year countdown will kick-off Jack Daniel’s Music City Midnight: New Year’s Eve in Nashville. Legendary English rock musician and guitarist Peter Frampton, a longstanding Nashville resident, will join Mayor Barry on the Jack Daniel’s Stage to raise the “Music Note,” toast to friends in the U.K. and kick off the fireworks. Jack Daniel’s Music City Midnight: New Year’s Eve in Nashville is produced by the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp.
The cozy, pop-up British Airways pub will be open throughout the festivities, complete with British spirits, memorabilia and a commemorative photo booth and green screen to transport guests to London through several classic backdrops. Visitors can also enter to win a pair of tickets for travel on the airline’s new service from Nashville to London, which first takes off from Nashville International Airport on May 4, 2018. Superstar Keith Urban will announce the winner later in the evening. Only one entry is permitted per person for the giveaway – promotional terms and conditions may apply. Full contest details will be available at VisitMusicCity.com.
The British Airways Pub will be located at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park at Sixth Avenue and will be open to the public beginning at 4pm and throughout the night.
