We, at The Bluebird Cafe, have made the difficult decision to temporarily close our venue. We have been monitoring the news and recommendations from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) about the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and feel this is the most appropriate course of action to keep our songwriters, audience members, and staff both healthy and safe.
Due to our venue’s small size, we feel this is the only surefire way to do so. As songwriter Don Schlitz once wrote, “you have to know when to hold them and know when to fold them.” Over the next two weeks, we will be evaluating the CDC’s information as well as updates from Nashville city health officials and hope to be able to reopen our doors next month.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during these challenging times. Please know that we would be open, enjoying wonderful songs and stories with all of you if we felt it was safe for everyone.
Please check our website and social media channels for further updates.
Mike Henderson. Talented singer, songwriter (If The Jukebox Took Teardrops, Harder Cards), multi instrumentalist and multi band member. Is there anything he can’t do? It would seem, based on the aforementioned evidence, that the answer to that question is simply “no.” Plus, he obviously fronts the Mike Henderson Band (hence the name) and they play some of the best blues this side of the Mississippi. He is joined by bassist, Michael Rhodes, and pianist/keyboardist, Kevin McKendree.
