Practice Makes Perfect is a juried show that includes works by some of Tennessee’s master furniture makers. Diverse in inspiration, techniques and materials, this exhibition brings together a group of skillful artisans who capture the spirit of what handmade furniture is all about. The distinguished jurors are Aspen Golann and Mike Bell. Aspen Golannn is an artist and a 17th & 18th century-style furniture maker from Boston, MA. Golann is the woodshop coordinator at the Penland School of Craft in Penland, North Carolina. Mike Bell is a talented cabinet maker and musician, formerly Conservator of Antique Furniture and Wooden Objects and Living History Expert for the Sturbridge Museum Collection in Massachusetts. Bell recently retired as the Curator of Furniture & Popular Culture at the Tennessee State Museum in Nashville.
